WOODLAND — A Davis woman was sentenced to probation and community service Tuesday for a case involving inappropriate conduct with minors.

Laura Olivier, 44, pleaded no contest in March to a felony count of unlawful sex with a minor and a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection with the incident, which according to Davis police reports occurred in early March 2014.

An affidavit for Olivier’s arrest alleged she had furnished alcohol and marijuana to friends of her teenage daughter on multiple occasions, and in March hosted a party for a 16-year-old boy that was attended by about a dozen other teens.

Police said Olivier then fondled the intoxicated boy in her bedroom, later texting him “on numerous occasions telling him not to tell anyone about their encounter,” the affidavit says.

The incident was not reported to police until October, and investigators obtained a warrant for Olivier’s arrest in December.

She entered into a plea agreement on March 5, in exchange for which the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office dismissed additional counts of sexual battery and furnishing a minor with marijuana.

On Tuesday, Yolo Superior Court Judge David Rosenberg sentenced Olivier to three years of probation and 45 days in jail, but noted she could serve 360 hours of community service in lieu of jail time.

Rosenberg also imposed a protective order instructing Olivier to stay away from minors except for her own child, though after July 1 she may attend her daughter’s sporting events if accompanied by another adult.
