A Vacaville man was sentenced to three years of probation last week after being convicted of workers’ compensation fraud, according to the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office.
Gregory Rudolph, 57, was licensed by the Contractor’s State License Board but did not carry workers’ compensation insurance and fraudulently treated an employee as an independent contractor during a September 2014 electrical job in Yolo County, prosecutors said.
The case originated from the Yolo County District Attorney’s Information and Resource Sharing (DAIRS) group, a work group that includes representatives from the Department of Industrial Relations, the Contractor’s State License Board and local building and code inspectors.
Anyone suspecting a contractor of workers’ compensation insurance fraud is urged to contact the Yolo County DA’s fraud hotline at 855-4-YOLO DA (855-496-5632) or fraud@yoloda.org. Reports of suspected fraud also can be made online at www.yoloda.org/fraud.htm.
