A 22-year-old Woodland man was killed Sunday morning when his vehicle ran off County Road 98 west of Davis.
California Highway Patrol officers say Khawar Ghaffar was at the wheel of a Mercedes E350 that was traveling at a high rate of speed on northbound County Road 98 when it left the roadway near County Road 30. The vehicle then overturned and struck a tree.
Ghaffar, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected in the collision, the CHP reported. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the crash is continuing, and it was unclear as of Monday whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, officers said.
