A Davis man serving time for a 2013 hate-crime beating was ordered Friday to pay more than $200,000 in restitution to his victim, according to the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office.

The $213,995 amount Yolo Superior Court Judge David Rosenberg ordered Clayton Daniel Garzon to pay represents medical expenses and lost wages incurred by the victim, 33-year-old Lawrence “Mikey” Partida of Davis, following the March 10, 2013, assault outside his cousin’s I Street home. Proscutors say Partida was targeted in part because of his sexual orientation.

Garzon, 21, pleaded no contest earlier this year to assault, battery and hate-crime charges. He is serving a split sentence that includes five years of prison time, which is being served locally in the Yolo County Jail, followed by two years and four months of supervised release.
