A 2-year-old boy was hospitalized Saturday following a near-drowning incident at Davis Athletic Club, according to the Davis Fire Department.
Division Chief Bruce Fry said the child was at the bottom of the children’s swimming pool at the 1809 Picasso Ave. club when his mother discovered him and pulled him out of the water shortly before 3 p.m. An employee performed chest compressions, prompting the child to resume breathing.
The boy was taken by ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center, where information about his condition was not available Saturday evening. A Davis Athletic Club manager could not be reached for comment Saturday evening.
