The Woodland Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a recent rash of burglaries.
Mario Lopez, 23, has eluded officers since late January, when police conducting a search-warrant operation arrested six people in connection with the three-month burglary spree, Sgt. Brett Hancock said. During those three months, police took reports of more than 150 residential and vehicle burglaries in which electronics, jewelry, money, tools and firearms were stolen.
Following the arrests, the number of reported burglaries dropped to fewer than 30 during February, Hancock said.
Police said Lopez attempted to turn himself in at the Yolo County Jail last month, but after a lengthy wait he left the facility before he could be booked. Hancock said Lopez is still believed to be in the Woodland area and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Lopez is described as a Hispanic male, about 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about Lopez’s whereabouts is urged to call the Woodland Police Department at 530-666-2411 or 530-661-7800.
