A Woodland man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to federal child pornography charges Tuesday, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.
Kyle Michael Hall, 24, also could be fined as much as $250,000 for the conviction, which was triggered by his arrest for trying to kidnap a woman in a Woodland parking lot in November 2012.
According to plea agreement documents filed in federal court, Hall had been living out of his truck at the time of his arrest and turned over his personal property to a friend, who the next day arrived at the Woodland Police Department and reported finding “disgusting things” on Hall’s computer.
“Located on the computer were approximately 108 images and 115 videos of child pornography,” as well as multiple instant messages in which Hall discussed child pornography and traded images and videos, Wagner said in a news release.
Wagner said the forensic analysis of Hall’s computer also identified multiple Skype chats in which Hall spoke with minors about sexually explicit topics.
“In one exchange with a 17-year-old from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Hall asked if he could drive to New Mexico to pick up the girl,” Wagner said. “In other chats, Hall offered money to minors in an attempt to entice them into sending him sexually explicit photos or videos.”
Hall is scheduled to be sentenced on May 20 by U.S. District Court Judge Judge Lawrence K. Karlton.
