A woman reported being sexually assaulted by a stranger Saturday morning at her downtown Davis home, police reported Monday.

Lt. Glenn Glasgow said the incident occurred at about 10:20 a.m. in the 200 block of D Street, where the woman spoke with the man outside the residence and rejected several sexual advances he made at her.

“As the female victim walked away from the suspect and was entering her room, the male subject forced his way into the room behind the victim and sexually assaulted her,” Glasgow said. He described the suspect, who fled the scene, as a clean-shaven white male in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6 feet tall with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing jeans and a dark-colored long-sleeved shirt.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contacted the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400. Glasgow said the incident does not appear to be related to earlier assault attempts on Oct. 28 on Alvarado Avenue and on Nov. 19 at Mace Boulevard and El Macero Drive.
