An Elk Grove man learned the hard way Wednesday that cops mean business when it comes to distraction-free driving.
Jamaar Dequint Anderson, 30, was pulled over for allegedly holding his cell phone while driving eastbound on Interstate 80 in West Sacramento. California Highway Patrol Officer Bryan Konvalin said Anderson refused to sign the resulting citation, then tried to alter it against the officer’s orders.
The result was an arrest and a trip to the Yolo County Jail for both the cell-phone violation and failure to comply with police orders, Konvalin said.
