The woman dubbed the “Bad Hair Bandit,” who authorities say robbed a US Bank in Davis during a four-state robbery spree, was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in state prison and ordered to pay more than $33,000 in restitution, U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.
Cynthia Lynn Van Holland, 48, a transient from the states of Idaho and Washington, pleaded guilty to 21 counts of bank robbery back in July. Authorities said she robbed the US Bank, 304 F St., on June 28, 2011, netting just under $2,000.
Van Holland, whose nickname stems from the unusual wigs and disguises she wore during the robberies, is believed to have robbed 21 banks in California, Oregon, Washington and Montana before her arrest last August in Placer County.
