Bail for a former Dixon youth coach accused of having an unlawful sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl was reduced from $1 million to $450,000 following a hearing Friday in Yolo Superior Court.
Judge David Rosenberg approved the defense motion to halve Troy Anthony Hensley’s bail but said the defendant must wear a GPS monitoring device and steer clear of the alleged victim and her family if he is freed from the Yolo County Jail, according to Deputy District Attorney Deanna Hays.
Hensley, 37, remained in jail custody as of Saturday afternoon. He is due back in court June 19 for a preliminary hearing.
Hensley has pleaded not guilty to eight counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor — each of which carries enhancements alleging oral copulation and sexual penetration of a person under age 18 — as well as one count each of criminal threats and dissuading a witness. All are felonies.
Authorities in Davis, where the alleged conduct occurred over a three-month period last year, say Hensley threatened the 17-year-old girl if she disclosed the relationship to anyone.
