A California Highway Patrol officer accused of molesting two children more than a decade ago is due back in court in October for a hearing regarding a third-party discovery motion, according to the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office.

Justin Prentice Morejohn, 31, of Davis, has pleaded not guilty to 10 felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14 filed back in January. He remains free on $1 million bail while his case is pending.

The discovery motion is due to be filed on Sept. 7, Chief Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Raven said. The hearing is slated for Oct. 19 before Yolo Superior Court Judge Paul Richardson.

Prosecutors allege that Morejohn molested the children between July 1999 and December 2001, before he became a CHP officer. A civil lawsuit filed by the alleged victims last fall claims that Morejohn gained access to them through their mutual membership at the Grace Valley Christian Center in Davis.
