Davis police have arrested two suspects believed to have stolen thousands of dollars’ worth of bicycles from a downtown business last month.
The Nov. 17 break-in at Apex Cycles & Service at 105 E St. resulted in the loss of several “very distinctive” bikes worth more than $17,000, police said on their Facebook page, where they posted a video of the thefts in progress.
A two-week investigation by the police department’s Community-Oriented Policing and Problem-Solving Unit and patrol officers resulted in two arrests this week: Devon Scott Quinn, 36, of Davis; and transient Raymond Allen Morisoli Jr., 49. Both were booked into the Yolo County Jail on burglary and conspiracy charges.
Apex was one of three downtown bike shops targeted by thieves over a three-week period last month. Ken’s Bike & Ski at 650 G St. and Freewheeler Bicycle Center at 703 Second St. both were burglarized twice.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400.
