A suspect remains at large after shooting a woman outside a Dunnigan motel Thursday morning, Yolo County sheriff’s officials said.
Lt. Matt Davis reported that deputies were informed at about 7:30 a.m. about the shooting, which according to witnesses occurred in the parking lot of the California Motel on County Road 99W. The woman had been taken from the scene by the time officers arrived, but was picked up by an ambulance along Interstate 5 and transported to an area hospital.
A chaotic scene ensued at the motel, where officers from multiple law-enforcement agencies, including the Davis Police Department, temporarily evacuated the rooms as they searched for a suspect. So far, no arrests have been made.
