Woodland police are seeking three suspects who assaulted and robbed a man at a gas station last week, the agency reported Friday.
Sgt. Victoria Danzl said a witness called police at about 9 p.m. Tuesday to report the attack at the 76 station on West and Court streets.
“Officers arrived and contacted the victim, who said that a group of three unidentified males approached him while he was pumping gasoline,” Danzl said. “He said one of the males began to punch him and another used a pipe wrench to swing at him. The suspects took his iPhone XR before fleeing on foot.”
According to Danzl, surveillance-camera footage of the 45-second incident showed three males walk up to the driver-side door of the victim’s black BMW sport-utility vehicle, where one suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants walked up to the victim and threw a punch with his right arm, then backed away.
After that, a suspect wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants swung a blunt object, possibly a large pipe wrench, multiple times toward the victim’s driver-side door, while a third person wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and light-colored jeans appeared to try to grab the victim. All three subjects left westbound through the gas station.
No further descriptions were provided. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Woodland Police Department at 530-666-2411.
