Wednesday’s scheduled arraignment of a former Davis police officer accused of embezzlement was postponed for a week at the prosecution’s request.
Trevor Anthony Edens, 46, is charged with misappropriating public funds in connection with alleged conduct that officials say was discovered in late 2018 while Edens, then a sergeant, supervised a countywide narcotics enforcement team.
He was placed on administrative leave and resigned from the department without benefits in June 2019. He had been with the agency since 2002.
Edens’ new court date is Oct. 21 at 1:30 p.m. in Yolo Superior Court Department 1. While the case is being prosecuted in Yolo County, it will be handled by the Solano County District Attorney’s Office, which reviewed the case prior to formal charges being filed in late July.
