Davis police are on the lookout for a motorist who was involved in a hit-and-run collision that injured a bicyclist Tuesday morning.
According to a news release, officers responded at about 11:50 a.m. to the collision at Third and D streets that involved the cyclist and a green Volkswagen Beetle.
“Upon their arrival, officers conducted an investigation and found that the Volkswagen had left the scene. The bicyclist had sustained injuries during the collision and was transported by ambulance to a Sacramento hospital for treatment,” the news release said.
Police are investigating the incident as a felony hit and run. The vehicle involved is described as lime-green in color — similar to the photo attached — possibly having yellow paper plates with “Cal Motors” in red lettering.
The driver is believed to be a Hispanic male adult, 20 to 30 years old, with short dark hair in a “buzz cut” style.
