The Woodland Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating two teenage sisters who went missing Friday evening.
Rorie Yubeta, 13; and Ralynn Yubeta, 14; were last seen together in the area of Jones Street and Newton Drive, a residential area southeast of County Fair Mall and northeast of the Woodland Sports Park, shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, the police department announced in a social media post.
Ralynn was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and black pants, while Rorie wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts, police said in the post, which was made early Saturday afternoon. The sisters still had not been located as of that evening.
Asked on social media why the department had not issued an AMBER alert — an emergency message issued when a law-enforcement agency determines that a child has been abducted and is in imminent danger — following the girls’ disappearance, police replied that the case “does not meet the criteria” for such an response but did not elaborate.
Anyone with information on the sisters’ whereabouts is urged to call the police department’s dispatch line at 530-666-2411.
