The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a solo vehicle crash near Capay that took the driver’s life early Wednesday morning.
Roland Salas, 57, of Suisun City, died at the scene of the collision, which occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on eastbound Highway 16 east of County Road 82. Officers arrived to find an Acura RDX that had overturned onto its side.
“For unknown reasons, the Acura traveled off the south road edge of State Route 16 and into the south shoulder, where it proceeded to overturn onto its left side,” Fitzhugh said. A passing motorist and ambulance personnel extricated Salas from the vehicle, but he succumbed at the scene to his injuries.
