An Alameda couple have been identified as the victims of a solo fatal vehicle collision that occurred Monday southeast of Winters.
Officers from the Solano-area California Highway Patrol reported Thursday that the couple were in a 1990 Ford F-150 pickup that was traveling northbound on Interstate 505 south of Putah Creek Road when the crash occurred at an unknown time.
“For unknown reasons the Ford turned right, off the roadway, across the shoulder, through a chain link fence and into an orchard,” where the truck struck a tree, the CHP reported in a news release.
Solano County coroner’s officials identified the driver as Michael Pascua, 72; and the passenger as Fely Pascua, 71, both of whom were discovered deceased inside the Ford, according to the CHP.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, though the CHP noted that alcohol is not believed to be a factor. Anyone with information is asked to contact the CHP’s Solano office at 707-428-2100 or 1-800-TELL-CHP (800-835-5247).
