The hunt is on for a hit-and-driver who struck and seriously injured a pedestrian north of Woodland early Thursday morning.
California Highway Patrol Officer Rodney Fitzhugh said officers were alerted at about 3:55 a.m. to the collision on Highway 113 south of County Road 17, arriving to find the pedestrian down in the roadway with major injuries.
“The driver and involved vehicle were not located at the collision scene,” Fitzhugh said. The pedestrian, identified only as a 29-year-old male, was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for treatment.
CHP investigators are now seeking a “vehicle of interest” — a silver sports car that would have sustained front-end damage as a result of the impact. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Woodland CHP office at 530-662-4685.
