A rash of vehicle burglaries at UC Davis’ riparian reserve has campus police reminding people to avoid leaving valuables inside their cars.
UCD spokesman Andy Fell said five victims filed burglary reports after break-ins at the reserve on Putah Creek, located between the gravel parking lot at Old Davis Road and County Road 98.
“Two reports today and another three in the past week in which people had left backpacks or valuables in view while they were out enjoying the reserve,” Fell said. “Please don’t leave valuable items in parked cars. If you must leave something in the car, put it out of sight in the trunk or glove box.”
The burglaries remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the UCD Police Department at 530-752-1727.
