A Davis man is facing vandalism and other charges after allegedly throwing rocks at moving vehicles early Tuesday morning, police said.

Lt. Art Camacho said police received several calls shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday reporting the rock-throwing along Second Street near the Pole Line Road overcrossing. The callers reported sustaining major damage to their vehicles, including at least one shattered windshield, but no injuries.

“Davis PD units responded and searched the area when a man matching the description of the suspect in this case was located,” Camacho said. “Upon being contacted the suspect allegedly threatened the responding officer with a rock before he was subdued.”

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Eric Severin Jenkins, was booked into the Yolo County Jail on felony charges of throwing a substance at a vehicle with intent to cause great bodily injury, vandalism and obstructing a police office, Camacho said.
