Davis police arrested a 26-year-old man on battery charges Saturday in connection with an altercation that allegedly left one victim badly injured.
Lt. Art Camacho reported Monday that officers were summoned at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday to the 800 block of Second Street, where four men were seen punching and kicking two victims, one of whom was later hospitalized with serious facial injuries.
The four suspects fled in a vehicle before police arrived on scene, but officers identified Davis resident Uriel Michael Esordienti as one of the possible assailants, Camacho said.
“It is suspected that the two victims were subject to attack because the suspects believed that one of them had a dating relationship with Esordienti’s former girlfriend,” Camacho said. Esordienti was taken into custody at his Glide Drive residence and booked into the Yolo County Jail.
