The Woodland Police Department announced it has started using new technology, SpidrTech — a customer service platform designed for use with law enforcement.
Through the use of the SpidrTech platform, the Woodland Police Department is able to enhance customer service by providing text-message updates to reporting parties regarding police response time, case numbers, assigned officers’ names and case updates.
One-to-one text messages are not used for all types of crimes, to include reports of domestic violence, in order to ensure the reporting party’s safety. Text messages are triggered based on call type and information inputted into the department’s Records Management System (RMS) and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
