Davis police are seeking an assault suspect who allegedly attacked a business owner Saturday morning on Olive Drive.
According to Lt. Mike Munoz, the victim arrived at business in the 1000 block of Olive Drive at about 8 a.m and saw the suspect riding his bike around the parking lot. When the victim asked the man if he could help him, the suspect attacked him.
“He hit the victim in the head with a bag that had weighted objects inside of it. He then threw his bike at the victim knocking him to the ground,” Munoz said Monday. “When the victim was on the ground, he punched him a few more times.”
The suspect fled the scene as the victim pulled out his cell phone to call police. Munoz said officers are seeking a black male transient in his late 50s, about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds with black hair.
