Davis police on Friday arrested a man suspected of robbing a woman at gunpoint earlier this month.
Eric Paul Rodriguez, 25, was taken into custody at about 1 p.m. in Woodland, Deputy Police Chief Paul Doroshov said. He is alleged to have robbed the woman Oct. 5 in the area of Sycamore Lane and Villanova Drive, then eluded officers who stopped his vehicle shortly after the crime.
“After the robbery, Rodriguez fled out of state, where detectives were able to make contact with him by phone,” Doroshov said. “Detectives negotiated with Rodriguez for the past two days, and he agreed to turn himself in.”
Rodriguez was booked into the Yolo County Jail on armed robbery charges, Doroshov said, adding that the robbery investigation remains ongoing.
