A Davis man is facing robbery and other charges after allegedly threatening and throwing objects at store employees Tuesday night, police said.
The incident began shortly before 10 p.m. with reports of a shoplifting at the Save Mart store on Anderson Road and West Covell Boulevard, where Davis police Lt. Art Camacho said the suspect, 26-year-old Anthony Woods Massey, was confronted by workers after stealing several items.
Camacho said Massey allegedly threatened to stab the employees and threw glass bottles at them before fleeing on a bicycle. When officers caught up to him in the area of Willow Lane and Fordham Drive, he reportedly ignored their commands and tried again to flee, but ultimately was arrested.
Massey, who according to Camacho had methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a knife on him, was booked into the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of robbery, possession of illegal drugs and Drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.
