Businesses along a busy stretch of Third Street in downtown Davis were briefly evacuated on Saturday afternoon due to police activity.
Police vehicles from local agencies blocked off eastbound traffic at F and Third streets as officers made contact at about 3:30 p.m. with a car connected to a Solano County case, according to Davis Deputy Police Chief Paul Doroshov. “Davis PD assisted Solano investigators with an investigative stop pursuant to a homicide that occurred the day prior in Solano County,” Doroshov said.
The driver was detained but not arrested. “Some adjacent businesses were evacuated for a brief period of time,” Doroshov said. “There is no known association between the vehicle and Davis.”
