The arraignment of a suspect in the March 10 beating of a gay man in Davis has been moved up to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Yolo Superior Court.
Clayton Daniel Garzón, 20, is charged with felony counts of battery, assault and criminal threats in connection with the attack on 32-year-old Lawrence “Mikey” Partida on I Street. Each count carries an enhancement alleging the beating was a hate crime.
Yolo County prosecutors also seek to increase Garzón’s bail from $75,000 to $500,000, citing the seriousness of the charges and the public safety risks they say Garzón poses to the community. Garzón is out of jail custody.
