The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home-invasion robbery in which the suspects remain at large after stealing a large amount of processed marijuana.
Sgt. Matt Davis said the incident was reported at about 5:20 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 15000 block of County Road 45, near the town of Guinda.
“Deputies learned several suspects entered a home and physically assaulted a resident who was asleep in the home,” Davis said in a news release. “The victim believes there were four or five suspects and reported seeing one with a handgun and another with a shotgun.”
According to Davis, the victim was forced into a basement but managed to escape and hide. He later found the residence ransacked, with the suspects taking about 600 pounds of processed marijuana.
The victim, who Davis said did not appear to be randomly targeted, described the suspects only as white male adults in their mid-20s. Anyone with information is urged to call dispatchers at 530-666-8282 or leave an anonymous tip at 530-668-5248.
