Woodland police are investigating a bar fight that spilled into the streets, leaving one man hospitalized Monday morning after he was intentionally struck by a car.
Sgt. Victoria Danzl said the assault occurred in the area of Third Street and Lincoln Avenue, just blocks from where two parties had been involved in an altercation at The Stag on Main Street. A fight ensued nearby at First and Bush streets, ending when the one of the parties fled.
Danzl said they were joined by a former classmate, a 22-year-old Woodland man, who was walking with his friends on Lincoln Avenue when a silver vehicle driving along the curb struck him from behind and threw him onto the sidewalk. The driver then fled southbound on Third Street.
The victim was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center with injuries described as non-life-threatening, Danzl said. She described the driver of the car as a Latino male with short dark hair, 6 feet tall and 150 pounds, last seen wearing a light gray button-up shirt over a white tank top and suspenders.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at 530-661-7800.
