Two people were hospitalized Monday morning after their vehicles collided on County Road 102 near County Road 27, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Rodney Fitzhugh said the crash occurred at about 10:10 a.m. when the driver of a Mazda, 22-year-old Bryan Garcia of Roseville, came upon stopped traffic in the northbound lane. He swerved into the southbound lane to avoid a crash, only to run into an oncoming Ford.
The Ford’s driver, Dunnigan resident Madalene Lane, 78, sustained major injuries in the crash, while Garcia had moderate wounds, Fitzhugh said. Both were transported to area hospitals.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to be factors in the incident, Fitzhugh said. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Woodland CHP office at 530-662-4685.
