Davis firefighters battled wind-driven vegetation fires locally and in Solano County on Sunday.
One fire spanned several acres and threatened the Domes housing community off Orchard Park Drive on the UC Davis campus, but the blaze was controlled before causing any structural damage, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.
The cause of that fire, which was reported at 12:30 p.m., remains under investigation.
Firefighters also provided aid to the Dixon Fire Department, which responded to multiple grass fires in that region during the afternoon and evening.
