Local police are seeking a man who burglarized the Islamic Center of Davis last week.
Lt. Glenn Glasgow said the suspect was caught on camera at the mosque at 539 Russell Blvd., where he entered the building through an unlocked window at about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday and took an undisclosed amount of money from donation boxes.
“At one point, the suspect is seen leaving the mosque and then parking a white vehicle on the west side of the church on South Campus Way,” Glasgow said in a news release. “The suspect re-entered the mosque and eventually exited and left in the white vehicle.”
He is described as white or Latino male, about 5-foot-10 and 160 to 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored baseball hat with sunglasses on top, a light-colored quarter-zip sweatshirt, blue jeans, white athletic shoes with black laces, and a black backpack.
The vehicle is described as a white four-door sedan, its make and model unknown.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400.
