A three-vehicle crash east of Woodland sent one person to the hospital and injured several others Wednesday night, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash occurred at about 8:50 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5 on the Yolo Causeway, where 42-year-old Lewis LeFlore of Sacramento failed to notice slowing traffic in front of him, CHP Officer Rodney Fitzhugh said.
LeFlore’s Dodge Caravan rear-ended a Fiat 300, which in turn struck a Toyota Prius. The driver of the Fiat, Sacramento resident Elena Vasquez, 27, had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries, Fitzhugh said.
A family of four inside the Prius, including 6- and 4-year-old children, reported minor injuries but declined to be transported, as did LeFlore, Fitzhugh said.
