A report of a motorist calling out “Taliban” to a woman in downtown Davis over the weekend has been documented as a hate incident, police said.
According to a police report filed Monday, the woman was walking with her husband in the area of Third and E streets Saturday night when a man in a passing white Toyota Camry shouted “Taliban” at her twice. The woman took photographs of the vehicle’s license plate.
Lt. Paul Doroshov said Monday the police report does not specify what elicited the comment. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Police Department at 530-747-5400.
