An investigation into criminal threats earlier this week ultimately led to the arrests of three men, Davis police said.
Lt. Paul Doroshov said the probe began Monday with the report that a 27-year-old Chico man, Michael Anthony Sanders, made death threats to another person. Detectives obtained a warrant for Sanders’ arrest and detained him Wednesday inside a shop on G Street.
Sanders resisted the officers but was arrested following a brief struggle, during which a loaded .357 Magnum handgun was recovered from his waistband, Doroshov said.
Later that day, detectives served a related search warrant at the Patio Apartments, 1007 Third St., where they arrested Brendon Caldas, 28, of Davis, after reportedly finding him in possession of a concealed .25-caliber handgun, cocaine, methamphetamine, Aderrall and hydrocodone pills, and numerous $20 bills.
Inside the apartment, officers located ammunition, military-style body armor, numerous baggies containing the designer drug MDMA (Ecstasy), individually packaged cocaine and various items suggesting narcotics sales activity, according to Doroshov.
Caldas, Sanders, and 22-year-old Kyle Saylor, who was contacted during the search and reportedly found with a concealed dagger, were all booked into the Yolo County Jail, Doroshov said.
