A large tree branch fell from an oak tree outside Pence Gallery during Friday night’s heavy downpour, damaging a balcony but causing no injuries, Davis police said.
Reports of the fallen branch came in shortly after 10 p.m. at the 212 D St. gallery, where it knocked the railing off a second-story balcony, according to Sgt. Dan Powell. The branch was estimated to weigh about 400 pounds.
A tree-removal crew was called to the scene to clear the limb on Saturday, Powell said.
