Woodland police arrested a woman on suspicion of robbing a 7-11 store clerk at knifepoint after she returned to the scene of her alleged crime.
Corporal Jeff Moe reported Friday that the suspect, a white female in her mid-50s, was holding a large kitchen knife when she entered the 301 Cottonwood St. convenience store shortly after 11:30 a.m. and demanded cigarettes.
“When the store clerk denied her requests, the female suspect reached over the counter and grabbed a carton of cigarettes,” Moe said. “When the clerk stepped towards the female to intercede, the suspect waved the knife the clerk’s direction indicating she would stab him if he moved closer.”
The woman then left the store and fled northbound on Cottonwood Street in a white four-door vehicle.
A detective was at the store conducting follow-up investigation Saturday morning when the same woman parked her vehicle next to the officer’s patrol car and entered the business, Sgt. Frank Ritter said. The woman, identified as Victoria Marie Vallerga, 54, was arrested and booked into the Yolo County Jail.
