Woodland police are investigating an early-morning shooting in which someone fired at juveniles at a park.
Sgt. Ted Ruiz said police received several reports shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday of gunshots in the area of Donnelly Circle and Yolano Drive, with one caller saying the shots came from a brown sport-utility vehicle and targeted several youths who ran toward a white Ford Mustang.
“Officers searched the area and did not locate any suspects or shooting victims,” Ruiz said in a news release. “Officers located the unoccupied Mustang and found it had been struck during the shooting. Several spent shotgun shells were recovered at the scene near the Mustang.”
Police also reported finding an apartment window that had been damaged from a bullet, though the projectile did not enter the residence and no one was injured, Ruiz said.
