A 64-year-old man died early Wednesday morning after being struck by a car in Woodland, police said.
Romeo Antonio, a Woodland resident, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which occurred at about 3 a.m. at Pioneer Avenue and East Beamer Street, Woodland police Sgt. Brett Hancock said.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver entered into the intersection on a green light and never saw the pedestrian,” Hancock said.
The driver was identified as Juvenal Navarro, also of Woodland. He was not injured during the incident.
Officers from the Woodland Police Department’s traffic division continue to investigate the collision. Anyone with information is asked to call 530-661-7800.
