The Davis Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a Faro Avenue residence Tuesday night.
Officials said a woman inside the home smelled smoke at about 10 p.m. and spotted flames coming from a construction area where a second-story addition is under way. She fled the house with her three children and called 911.
No injuries were reported, but the fire caused between $8,000 and $10,000 in damage before being contained.
