The California Highway Patrol is seeking witnesses to a vehicle accident that killed a 51-year-old Scotia woman Saturday near Woodland.
According to a CHP news release, dispatchers received reports at about 1:15 p.m. of a Honda Civic running off northbound Interstate 5 near County Road 22 and landing on its side in a remote field underneath the Yolo Causeway.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered the driver, identified Monday as Tracey Clark, had suffered fatal injuries. A 3-year-old child restrained in a car seat had just minor injuries and was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.
A pink cross and flowers marked the crash site Monday morning.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed it is asked to call the Woodland CHP office at 530-662-4685.
