Davis police are investigating two apparently unrelated robberies that occurred this week in West Davis.
At about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, a 21-year-old man was skateboarding on Adams Street when a red sedan pulled in front of him and a rear passenger asked for directions to Shasta Drive. That person then pulled out a gun and demanded the victim’s money and wallet, Davis Deputy Police Chief David Delaini said.
Delaini described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20s, 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, with short dark hair and wearing jeans and a T-shirt. The car was similar to a Honda Civic, and a woman with long brown hair sat in the front passenger seat.
The second robbery occurred at about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday as the victim was loading items into the trunk of her car on Oakenshield Road. The suspect pushed her aside, grabbed her purse and ran toward a waiting vehicle that headed toward Arlington Boulevard, Lt. Tom Waltz said.
That suspect was described as a black male in his late 20s, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with an average build, short black hair and wearing gray pants, a short-sleeved T-shirt and sunglasses. His car was a new-looking light gray or silver Hyundai sedan.
Neither victim was injured. Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400.
