A Woodland woman died Wednesday but her three young children survived a rollover crash Wednesday in rural Yolo County.
Jennifer Marie Smith, 34, was traveling northbound on County Road 95 north of County Road 25 when, for reasons that remain under investigation, her Ford Explorer drifted off the road, veered back and began to roll, California Highway Patrol Officer Pedro Leon said.
Smith, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Her children — ages 8, 4 and 1 — were either seatbelted or in car seats and were hospitalized with unspecified injuries, Leon said.
