Two bicyclists were injured Wednesday after being struck by vehicles in downtown Davis, police said.
Cyclist Yuan Shaoeng, 40, of Davis, suffered a broken ankle and bruising to his arms after being hit by a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Rodwin Vibat of Woodland at Fifth and I streets shortly after 4 p.m., Lt. Tom Waltz said.
At about the same time, bicyclist Judson Abart, 65, of Davis, reportedly ran a stop sign and was hit by a vehicle at Third and D streets, Waltz said. The driver was identified as Sacramento resident Ruben Rocha, 21.
The Davis Fire Department reported that both cyclists were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
