A homicide investigation is underway following the discovery of a man’s body Saturday near a Clarksburg-area slough.
Yolo County Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Davis reported Monday that a fisherman discovered the body shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of Jefferson Boulevard and Courtland Road, which is south of Clarksburg.
The man’s identification and cause of death had not been released as of Monday evening, pending the notification of his family, Davis said.
No suspects in the case have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing, Davis said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office at 530-668-5280.
The homicide is the second this year to occur in rural Yolo County. In February, sheriff’s detectives arrested 23-year-old Samantha Lee Green of Woodland on suspicion of murder after she allegedly took her infant son Justice Rees into a Knights Landing slough and kept him outdoors overnight.
Green is scheduled to go to trial in April in Yolo Superior Court.
